Beautifying Folsom High School’s Campus

Show your school pride and help beautify the Folsom High School landscape by weeding and spreading mulch. Please bring gloves, shovels, rakes, and a wheelbarrow if you have one.


Blue Ravine Rd. Wood Chip Project
Journey Church will add city-supplied woodchips to the front section of Journey Church along 450 Blue Ravine Rd. Please bring gloves, shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrow if you have them available.


BrickDreams LEGO Sorting Event
BrickDreams works to bring unused LEGOs to children who have been the victim of domestic violence or abuse. We collect donated LEGOs and sort them into empty tennis ball cans to ensure a can is given to a child in need.

Chan House Fence Installation
Install a 6′ wooden fence at the front and back of the property.
*Ages 18+


Cummings Bike Park Jump Improvements
Volunteers will assist in installing the newly reconfigured bike jumps.
*Ages 10+


Donation Drive
Assist in the donation drive booths that collect items, such as bicycles, glasses, yarn & fabric, socks, Christmas gifts, and purses!
*18+/Adults only


Food Drive Neighborhood Collection
The Twin Lakes Food Drive will gather food collections from neighborhoods. Teams of volunteers are needed to collect, as well as drivers.


Food Drive: Receive and Sort

Following the neighborhood pick-up, the Twin Lakes Food Drive would love for volunteers to assist them in receiving and sorting thousands of pounds of food donations.


Historic Folsom Murer House Drainage Improvement
The Murer House and Gardens Museum need your help! Volunteers would excavate the rocks and dirt from the side of the garage to make the necessary repairs to improve drainage along the museum wall to alleviate water intrusion into the building.


Kemp Park and Surrounding Street Clean Up
Clean up the park and surrounding streets of the park we all love and use!


Library Cleaning

Help clean our library shelves and entryways! This project involves using household cleaning products.

Military CARE Package Packing Party
Help show support for our military away from home! Setup and pack 500-800 care packages for deployed military.
*Ages 8+ (Ages 8-12 require adult supervision)


Military Care Packages Letter Writing
Send some love and support to our troops overseas! Write letters of gratitude to be included in care packages being sent to the U.S. military serving overseas.


Neighbors Helping Seniors
Make a difference in your neighborhood with a simple act of kindness by lending a hand to our seniors. Volunteers will help seniors with outdoor projects, such as landscaping, weeding, gutter cleaning, or outdoor repairs. Locations will be distributed at registration.
*Ages 10+


Pokeweed removal at Hinkle Creek
Volunteers will hike through the Hinkle Creek nature area and cut out the pokeberry invasive weed. The weeds will be pre-marked the week prior to the event. Tools and tarps will be provided for the removal.
*Ages 18+


Project Support Team
Support team members will assist in visiting sites to take photos for social media/publicity and ensure volunteers are safe and have the supplies they need. Volunteers will be assigned to project sites prior to Sept. 18.
*Volunteers will need a car/be able to drive.


PSVRR Hampton Station Railfest Site Preparation
The PSVRR Hampton Station is in need of clean-up and yard maintenance in anticipation of the 2021 Folsom Railroad Festival! Volunteers will help prep the festival site which will include: cutting down weeds, raking, clearing rocks, and shoveling dirt. All work will be performed at the railroad tracks just east of the Hampton Inn at 155 Placerville Road in Folsom.
*Ages 9+; Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Any volunteer operating equipment must wear hearing and eye protection and long pants.


PSVRR Historic Railroad Superintendent’s House Site Clean-up
PSVRR needs assistance with yard work and cleaning up of the office on site. This project consists of the general yard and landscaping maintenance, including weed removal, collection of leaves, a cut-back of overgrown trees and bushes.
*Ages 9+; Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Any volunteer operating equipment must wear hearing and eye protection and long pants.


PSVRR Railfest Equipment Preparation
PSVRR needs your help to prepare train equipment for the 2021 Folsom Railroad Festival! Volunteers will convene at 1302 Bidwell Street in Folsom to help wash and clean the train equipment scheduled to be used during Railfest!
*Ages 9+; Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. Any volunteer operating equipment must wear hearing and eye protection and long pants.


Re-stain Folsom Kids Play Park Playground
Come out to Folsom Kids Play Park to help give the playground new life. Volunteers will be staining the existing playground structures.


Repair Crossing/Foot Bridges
Show love to Folsom’s Trail Bridges! Identify and bring material to bridges and repair faulty or damages small walking trail bridges.


Rock Folsom With Kindness
Paint rocks for our Folsom senior community! Volunteers will paint rocks that will be distributed to seniors to display in their yards and homes.


Rodeo Baseball Field #2 Renovation
The infield grass will be removed to help provide a smoother playing surface for little league play.

Solutions Desk
Assist volunteers in signing up for projects/troubleshooting for their projects.
*Ages 18+


Trail Stenciling
At specified locations, stencil “Walk on the left/ride on the right” on the trail surface.
*Ages under 14 require adult supervision


Tree Care and Stake Removal Along Scholar Way
Help remove the support stakes that are no longer needed for the young trees along Scholar Way. The project also consists of performing light pruning and clean up of the area as needed.
*Ages 15+


Vitalant Blood Drive
Greeter volunteers will assist in the blood donation drive by checking in donors, hand out materials, etc.
Refreshment volunteers will replenish refreshment areas, wipe down donor chairs and tables, and visit donors.
*Ages 18+


Zoo Enrichment Items for Animals

Help assemble enrichment items for zoo animals such as paper-wrapped boxes, paper mache, peanut strings, and corn husk bags.
*This is an at-home project


Zoo Maintenance Projects (Zoo Landscaping)
Help maintain the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary and its landscape! Volunteers will be painting, raking, weeding, and completing other general maintenance projects at the zoo.
